What if a “safe” pill could make you happier, more productive, and nearly erase negative emotions—should you take it? From antidepressants and stimulants to genetic screening and brain–computer interfaces, the line between healing and enhancement is getting blurry. Drawing on stories, philosophy, and real-world examples, I ask whether these technologies truly lead to human flourishing—or quietly undermine it.
